Free agent Michael Young has received little interest thus far so the 37-year-old has begun to reach out to teams for the 2014 season.
As reported by Peter Gammons, Young contacted the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles. Young is an “interesting” option for both team writes Gammons but would likely have to settle for a backup role at this point in his career.
Young batted .279/.335/.395 with eight home runs and 46 RBI over 147 games last season between the Phillies and Dodgers.
