Rockies among teams interested in Carlos Ruiz

Add the Colorado Rockies to a growing list of teams showing interest in free agent catcher Carlos Ruiz.

Ruiz, 34, is drawling interest from the Rockies in addition to the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

Already the Phillies have said they will not wait for Ruiz to make a decision about returning prior to seeking out his replacement.

The Denver Post reports that the Rockies have reached out to both Ruiz and pitcher Tim Hudson about joining their team for 2014. In Denver Ruiz would mentor Wilin Rosario.

Ruiz missed the first 25 games of the season after failing a drug test due to the use of Adderall. In 92 games for the Phillies during the 2013 season Ruiz hit .268/.320/.368 with five homr runs and 37 RBI.
