Manny Machado may not be ready for Opening Day after all according to the Baltimore Orioles.
Machado underwent surgery on his left knee that included reconstruction of the medial patellar femoral ligament on Monday which went as expected.
Just that the Orioles have Machado as missing six months rather then the 4-6 weeks which was expected.
If true this would suggest that Machado would miss the entire spring training.
“The goal would be to have him ready for Opening Day, but the real goal is to stabilize Manny,” Orioles vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette said. “What needs to be done needs to be done for Manny to return to full baseball activities. So he’s got some work to do with his rehab, which I’m sure Manny will tackle with great vigor.”
