The Baltimore Orioles have acquired outfielder Mike Morse from the Seattle Mairners.
Earlier this week the Orioles claimed both Morse and Josh Willingham on waivers in hopes of working out a deal. The Orioles had been seeking upgrades to their lineup, most notable at designated hitter.

Faced with a 1:30 pm deadline to work out a deal the Orioles were successful in completing a deal with Seattle for the 31-year-old Morse.
In 76 games for the Mariners this season Morse was hitting .226/.283/.410 with 13 home runs and 27 RBI. Over the last three seasons Morse had hit 64 home runs in 346 games with the Washington Nationals.
The Mariners will get minor league outfielder Xavier Avery in return.
