Max Scherzer is now 19-1 after picking up a win in Saturday’s game against the New York Mets.
Scherzer pitched six scoreless innings and struck out 11 Mets.
The 29-year-old right-hander has a 2.73 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. Scherzer allowed three hits and walked three while throwing 78 of 118 pitches for strikes.
This time a month ago Scherzer was sporting a 3.14 ERA but has put together a 1.33 ERA in his last six outings to lower the number to 2.73 which will help his chances of notching the AL Cy Young Award.
