The San Francisco Giants designated outfielder Jeff Francoeur for assignment.
Francoeur, 29, was picked up by the Giants after being let go by Kansas City earlier this year. Whether or not Francoeur gets an opportunity with another team this season remains to be seen.
In 81 games between the two teams, Francoeur was hitting a mere .204/.238/.298 with three home runs and 17 RBI.
