How much have the New York Yankees missed Derek Jeter this year?
On Sunday Jeter returned to the Yankees lineup at shortstop and batted from the two spot in the order. The results were picturesque as the Yankees captain belted a home run off of Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Matt Moore.
Jeter had been on the disabled list from a quad injury from his first comeback attempt this season. The Yankees are well behind Tampa in the AL East but are hoping to catchup or be contenders for the AL Wild Card spots.
Also homering in Sunday’s game was Alfosno Soriano, his first since being reacquired by the Yankees.
