Paul Maholm left his start on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox with an apparent injury to his left wrist.

Maholm did not pitch well before leaving the game – allowing five earned runs in three innings of work, including a home run. The Braves have yet to release an official statement on the extent of Maholm’s injury but it will naturally lead to speculation that Brandon Beach could be summoned from Triple-A Gwinnett.

On the season Maholm holds a 4.41 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. He has allowed a home run in 9 or his last 12 starts.

Beachy pitched well in his Friday start throwing 46 of his 70 pitches for strikes. He walked one and struck out three over five innings, giving up one run on five hits.
