Alex Wood is bound for Triple-A Gwinnett. The Braves reliever pitched 3 2/3 innings in Friday nights game.

The move has little to do with the ability of Wood who only allowed a walk while striking out three on Friday. On the season Wood, 22,  owns a 2.45 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP.

Jose Constanza will be called up for Saturday’s game as the Braves are dealing with injuries in the outfield. The left handed Wood became a logical expenditure after he threw so many pitches on Friday night.

With the All-Star break just around the corner the Braves will be able to rest players and get their rotation in order for the second half. Expect to see Wood back up soon.
