The Toronto Blue Jays have sent pitcher Chien-Ming Wang outright to Triple-A Buffalo. Wang was designated for assignment earlier this week but passed though waivers unclaimed and has elected to remain with the team.
Wang started five games for the Blue Jays but struggled with a 7.13 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP during his 24 innings of work.
In Wang’s first three starts with the team he went six or more innings but lasted only 1 2/3 innings in each of the final two starts.
Wang will try his hand at Triple-A Buffalo and await a call up later in the season from the Blue Jays.
