Singer and now sports agent Jay-Z takes a shot at Scott Boras on his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail.
“Scott Boras, you over baby, Robinson Cano, you coming with me.” raps Jay-Z on the track “Crown” according to ESPN.
The news hit the internet but it is Boras who may be getting the last laugh.

Bernie Williams has went on to have a bit of a jazz career since retiring from the Yankees.
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation’s sports client list has five names on it currently with Cano, NBA player Kevin Durant, NFL players Geno Smith and Victor Cruz and women’s basketball player Skylar Diggins. The company also represents many musical artists.
“My response to these things is we are baseball players,” Boras told Yahoo Sports. “We are former players. We are people who are 24-7 committed to our game. We do not represent anyone but baseball players.”
Boras went on to say that approaches such as Jay-Z’s have happened in the past.
“Exterior approaches are not new to the game,” Boras said. “Many in practice have come in and tried to grab the game. … All I can offer the player is, all my time will be spent only on baseball.”
Currently Boras is the agent for youngsters Bryce Harper, Stephen Strasburg, Carlos Gonzalez, Prince Fielder, and Matt Harvey among others.
