Minor league baseball team has jersey with twitter handles

The Fort Wayne TinCaps held social media on Thursday. To celebrate the event the team wore special jersey’s featuring the twitter handles of the teams fans.

The TinCaps released the following statement about the jerseys, via MiLB.com:

“We like to say that Fort Wayne TinCaps baseball is ‘All About You,’” TinCaps Vice President of Marketing Michael Limmer said. “With these Social Media Night jerseys, we took that expression to heart and made the jerseys all about our fans and followers. They’ve always had the back of our organization. Now we’re giving back to them on Social Media Night by putting them on the players’ backs.”

The TinCaps’ marketing department came up with the concept of the jerseys in the offseason and used the handles of those following @TinCaps as of March 11 for the jerseys, which were produced by Wilson Sporting Goods. The jerseys are white, with “@TinCaps” printed in red across the chest, and the green-printed Twitter handles adorned throughout.
