Even if the Chicago White Sox make trades at the deadline current manager Robin Ventura intends to remain with the team.

Eyebrows were raised in the off season about Ventura’s commitment to the White Sox after he turned down an extension. Ventura’s current contract runs though 2014.

“No, I think there’s, for one reason or another, there’s a whisper that because (of the team struggles) that I’m not going to come back,” Ventura said, via ESPN Chicago. “That’s the furthest thing from the truth. For me, I’m in it for as long as I’m in it and then you go from there.

Ventura plans to serve out his contract and wants to determine if he is still the right person for the position of White Sox manager at the end of the season.

The White Sox have lost ten of their last eleven games and are currently last in the AL Central.
