Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon McCarthy underwent an MRI on Tuesday. The MRI revealed no structural damage to McCarthy’s shoulder.
The 29-year-old, McCarthy has shoulder inflammation.
There is no clear timetable for the return of McCarthy and the injury has been an ongoing one thoughout his major league career. The Diamondbacks are not expected to rush him back to the majors and will continue to let Tyler Skaggs make starts for the time being.
In 11 starts this season McCarthy is 2-4 with a 5.00 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. He signed a two-year deal with the Diamondbacks in December.
