Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is likely headed to the disabled list after sitting out the last five games with bursitis in his left knee according to The Washington Times.

If Harper is placed on the DL, the stint will be retroactive to May 27, making him eligible to return June 11.

Harper was injured on May 13 when he had a violent collision with the right field wall at Dodger Stadium.

The Nationals called up right-hander Erik Davis, in order to place him on the 25-man roster, they must make a move. Harper seems to be the likely candidate to allow time for healing in his knee.

Davis,  had a 3.00 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 24 innings for Triple-A Syracuse this season.
