Jered Weaver will return to the rotation of the Los Angeles Angels next week. Weaver has not pitched since April 7 due to an fractured left elbow.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Angels manager Mike Scioscia said that his right hander would rejoin the rotation as long as his bullpen session goes well later this week.

Weaver will return to the Angels without making any rehab starts. He did pitched a few extended spring training games and is on course to start Monday or Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Currently Weaver is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP after two starts.

News is not as promising for the Angels when it comes to Tommy Hanson. The Orange Country Register reports that Hanson is weeks away from returning to the rotation as he attempts to regain stamina. Hanson has been out since the death of his step brother.
