Francisco Rodriguez was called up to the major league roster by the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday. The Brewers were up against a Wednesday deadline that required them to call him up to the major leagues or grant him his release.
During his time at the minor league level Rodriguez struck out seven in four scoreless innings.
Signed to a minor league deal in April, Rodriguez spent parts of the last two seasons with the Brewers after being acquired in a trade from the New York Mets.
In 78 games last season Rodriguez had a 2-7 record, a 4.38 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.
Rodriguez could quickly find playing time in the late innings for the Brewers.
