The Long Island Ducks are far from where Vladimir Guerrero wants to be but the veteran outfielder will have to prove himself there if he ever wants to play in the majors again.

Guerrero is attempting a comeback after sitting out the 2012 season.

The Blue Jays signed Guerrero to a minor league deal last year but granted the now 38-year-old his release after just 12 minor league games. During that time Guerrero hit .358/.364/.679 with four homers.

Guerrero was once one of the premier sluggers in baseball and has 449 career home runs. In his last big league season, 2011, he had his worst season of his career. Guerrero hit just 13 home runs for the Baltimore Orioles and finished with a career low .290/.317/.416 line.
