LaTroy Hawkins has turned into a journeyman in recent years. The right handed reliever was told on Monday that he had made the New York Mets. The Mets will be the tenth different team that the 40-year-old Hawkins has pitched for in his career.
The Mets signed Hawkins to a minor league deal in January.
Last season Hawkins continued to be a reliable option in the bullpen as he pitched 42 innings for the Los Angeles Angels finishing with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP.
