It may not be the seven-year $175 million deal that Seattle attempted to sign ace Felix Hernandez to but the Mariners have re-signed his older brother Moises.
Moises Hernandez, 28, has spent the last two seasons in the Mariners minor league system. Hernandez has spent each of those seasons at the Double-A level. Last season he finished with a 6.66 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 32 games.
The Mariners expect little from Moises but re-signing him was likely a condition of the teams deal with Felix Hernandez. An issue with the shoulder of Felix has delayed the deal from becoming official.
