Jason Giambi signs minor league deal with Indians

The Cleveland Indians have added yet another veteran presence to their roster for the 2013 season.

Giambi spent the last handful of seasons with Colorado. Last season he hit just .225/.372/.303 with a home run and eight RBI in 113 trips to the plate.

In Cleveland, Giambi would be a left-handed bat off the bench and could occasionally see time at first or DH.

Cleveland has recently come to terms with Rich Hill, Jeremy Hermida and Matt Capps on minor league deals.

Giambi interviewed for the head coaching spot with Colorado this off season but was passed over for Walt Weiss.
