Former major league catcher Mike Piazza will address the topic of PEDs in his upcoming book titled ‘Long Shot.’
Lonnie Wheeler, co-author, of the book says that Piazza will address the topic in multiple chapters.
“Anybody who’s looking for Mike’s answer to PED questions will find it there . . . I believe he’s clean,” Wheeler said. ”I can’t get too specific about the nature of that discussion.”
Piazza received 57.8 percent of the 75 percent required for induction into Cooperstown. He was joined on the ballot with other canidates who have previously been linked to PEDs such as Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Roger Clemens. None of them received enough votes to be elected to the Hall of Fame either.
A 62nd round pick, Piazza is widely considered the best offensive catcher of all time. He finished his career with a .308 average, 427 home runs and 1,335 runs batted in.
