Twins and Liriano hit snag on deal to return

While the Minnesota Twins have spoken to left handed pitcher Francisco Liriano about a return those talks have cooled. According to the Star Tribune the Twins and Liriano have hit a snag.

Minnesota is currently trying to fill out their rotation and ideally would like to sign two inexpensive options at the back end. Apparently Liriano would like either more years or dollars.

Liriano spent the 2012 season split between the Twins and Chicago White Sox. Overall, he was 6-12 with a 5.34 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP.

Currently the Twins have Vance Worley, Scott Diamond and Kyle Gibson slated for three spots.  There are a handful of fall back options currently signed to contracts but none posses the upside of Liriano.

Nick Blackburn, Cole De Vries, Samuel Deduno among others could find their way into the Twins rotation this year.
