Scott Rolen may return to Reds in 2013

Scott Rolen is unsure if he will attempt to continue his baseball career. Rolen, a 17 year veteran, will turn 38 in early April. Jason Stark reports that Rolen has spoken to the Cincinnati Reds about 2013 but is  “not ready to make a decision.”

If Rolen has interest in playing for the Reds again next season it would have to be as a bat off the bench as Todd Frazier has to be considered the regular Reds third basemen.
Last year Rolen appeared in 92 games hitting .245/.318/.398 with 8 home runs and 39 RBI. Rolen has also played for Philadelphia, St Louis and Toronto in his career.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported last month that Rolen was expected to retire.
