Tim Lincecum will be part of Giants playoff rotation

It was not the best season for San Fransisco Giants pitcher Time Lincecum but the two time Cy Young award winner will be a part of the rotation when the playoffs begin. Lincecum was better after the all-star break compiling a 7-5 record to go with a 3.83 ERA and a .243 batting average against.

“He’s tough mentally,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “He finds a way.”

The San Jose Mercury News is reported that Bochy plans to use Lincecum in game three of the Divisional round. Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner are expected to start the first two games of the series.

When asked about how he will perform int he post season the 28 year old Lincecum was unworried saying “If I can execute and focus and make pitches when I need to, I’ll be fine.”

The Giants have clinched their division but are three games behind the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds for the best record in the NL. Their first round opponent is unknown at this time.
