It was only a few weeks ago that Martin Truex Jr., driver of the No.56 NAPA Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) said contract negotiations were “basically done” for him to resign with MWR.
Now basically done has turned into completely done, and Truex is reported to of signed an extension with MWR. An announcement and car unveiling is scheduled for Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Truex has been having an impressive run this season. He is a sure in for the Chase, currently sitting in fifth place with two races to go. Truex has finished in the top ten 13 times this season. He also has five top-five finishes.
