American film actor and entertainer Mickey Rooney died today (April 6) at the age of 93, having been ill for quite some time according to TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mickey Rooney\u00a0was born\u00a0Joe Yule\u00a0Jr. on September 23, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York. \u00a0He first took the stage as a toddler in his parents\u2019 vaudeville act at 17 months old, according to Rooney’s website.\u00a0He then went on to become one of the most famous child actors in history.<\/p>\n

Rooney was famous for playing the legendary ‘Andy Hardy.” He also teamed up with Judy Garland for multiple films.<\/p>\n

Mickey\u00a0won an Honorary Academy Award, two Golden Globes and an Emmy Award.<\/p>\n

Rooney had been married eight times, most recently\u00a0to his wife\u00a0Jan\u00a0since 1978.<\/p>\n
