Lindsey Jacobellis of the United States entered as the favorite for gold in Women’s Snowboard Cross a the 2014 Winter Olympics but in the end the 28-year-old was left off the podium.<\/p>\n

Jacobellis fell by herself during her semi-finale race and was left to finish sixth overall after finishing first in the small final.<\/p>\n

The gold medal went to Eva Samkova of the Czech Republic who took the lead early in the final and never looked back. Earlier this year in the X-Games she finished second to Jacobellis.<\/p>\n

Canada’s Dominique Maltais took the silver with France’s Chloe Trespeuch finishing with the bronze.<\/p>\n

Faye Gulini of the United States fnished fourth overall just missing the podium.<\/p>\n
