That&#8217;s a good formula for working things out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If a new deal for Pitta cannot be worked out the Ravens could always use the franchise tag but it&#8217;s unclear if Pitta would be viewed as a tight end or a wide receiver. As a tight end Pitta would cost about $6.7 million while as a wide receiver he would cost $11.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Ravens are uncomfortable paying the wide receiver price for Pitta and that means he could hit free agency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think every scenario is possible here,&#8221; Harbaugh said. &#8220;The franchise tag is very vague right now, so anything could happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After missing the start of the season with a hip injury, Pitta returned for the Ravens final four games catching 20 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baltimore Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh is optimistic that the team will be able to re-sign tight end Dennis Pitta. &#8220;I&#8217;m very optimistic,&#8221; Harbaugh said Friday at the\u00a0NFL\u00a0scouting combine, via the Baltimore Sun. &#8220;To my knowledge, both of those guys really want to be here and we really want them here.
