Peyton Manning set records for touchdowns and passing yards in a season during his 2013 campaign. On Saturday night he was rewarded with his record fifth NFL MVP Award.

Manning broke the NFL’s single-season passing records this year with 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns. Previously these records were held by Drew Brees and Tom Brady respectively.

It was not the only award given to the Denver Broncos quarterback as he also won the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award. The most surprising thing is there was at-least one person who did not vote for Manning and it was former quarterback Jim Miller who explained his reason for voting for Tom Brady.

“It pains me because Peyton had such a historic season,” Miller said to the Denver Post. “He is the offensive player of the year, no question. But having played the position, when I looked at who had the most value to his team, I thought Tom Brady carried that team the same way Adrian Peterson carried Minnesota last year.”

Luke Kuechly won the Defensive Player of the Year award after registering 156 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks.
