Under Jason Garrett the Dallas Cowboys have been madly consistent. With Garrett as their head coach the Cowboys have finished 8-8 with losses in Week 17 that would have earned them a trip to the playoffs in each of the last three seasons.<\/p>\n

Still owner Jerry Jones threw his support behind Garrett following a 24-22 season ending loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

“I said that a month ago,” Jones reiterated Sunday night (via\u00a0ESPN<\/a>), “I stand by what I said a month ago.”<\/p>\n

It’s not the Jason will be back in 2014 quote people were looking for but it’s close enough.<\/p>\n

Jones was not about to talk about the future of defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. Under Kiffin the Cowboys sunk to last in nearly every defensive statistic a season after being middle of the pack under Rob Ryan.<\/p>\n

“I’m not discussing that at all,” Jones said. “I have spoken a little more appropriate time here about three or four weeks ago. I said at that time that I was with Jason, that I thought that his future and what he’s going to be doing with us was good. But this isn’t the time and I don’t even like the way it feels or looks to speak to anything about our coaches.”<\/p>\n

Kiffin is not ready to retire but that hardly means he will be back with the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

“I don’t plan on retiring,” Kiffin said. “I want to keep on coaching. I really would. It’s no laughing matter. I’m proud to be a Cowboy. I’d like to get another shot next year. We’ll see.”<\/p>\n
