Instead the Browns opted to get the 12-year veteran go even as he was 4-for-4 in preseason kicks. Carpenter was let go by the Dolphins after the team drafted Caleb Sturgis.<\/p>\n<p>Carpenter had been linked to multiple teams weeks ago and was cut at the end of camp by the New York Jets who opted to go with Nick Folk.<\/p>\n<p>Last season Carpenter was 22-of-26 (84.6) and is 127-of-154 for his career.
