The release of Edwards means that Josh McCown will be left to shoulder the burden in the event of an injury to starter Jay Cutler.<\/p>\n<p>The release of Edwards should come as little surprise. He was simply in camp to give the Bears a body, and perhaps a early look in case an injury were to occur to Cutler or McCown.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago&#8217;s season will rest on the arm of Cutler who is entering the last year of his contract.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards appeared in one game last season going 2-for-2 with the Eagles for 14 yards.
