The Denver Broncos will be without one of the NFL’s best pass rushers for the first six games of the season.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday the NFL suspended Von Miller for six games after the league negotiated with Miller’s lawyers and the NLFPA. There will be no appeal and Miller will immediately begin serving his suspension without pay.<\/p>\n

USA Today is reporting<\/a> that Miller’s suspension comes from his spilling of a urine sample prior to an offseason workout. When Miller supplied a sample after practice it was found to be diluted.<\/p>\n

Miller will miss games against the Ravens, Giants, Raiders, Eagles, Cowboys and Jaguars. He will be allowed to return to the Broncos for their Week 7 game against the Colts. Miller will lose roughly $806,000 in pay as part of the suspension.<\/p>\n

The Denver Broncos released the following statement from Miller:<\/p>\n

“The Substances of Abuse policy requires everyone to comply with the rules. Although my suspension doesn’t result from a positive test, there is no excuse for my violations of the rules. I made mistakes and my suspension has hurt my team, Broncos fans, and myself. I am especially sorry for the effect of my bad decisions on others.<\/p>\n

I will not make the same mistakes about adhering to the policy in the future. During my time off the field, I will work tirelessly and focus exclusively on remaining in peak shape. I look forward to contributing immediately upon my return to the field and bringing a championship back to the people of Denver.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
