The Dallas Cowboys are leaving Irving. On Tuesday the Cowboys announced plans to move their headquarters from Irving to Frisco upon winning approval of a $115 million developmental plan.<\/p>\n

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his son Stephen traveled to Frisco where multi-use sports facilities will open in 2016.<\/p>\n

“Frisco is a city (that) they think big and they act bold. They have a vision and they act on it,” said Stephen Jones, via AP<\/a>. “It gives us great comfort to do business with people who think like this.”<\/p>\n

As is the case with most things Cowboys, the new indoor training fields will be paid mostly through a city sales tax while the school district funds part of the construction.<\/p>\n

The deal calls for the Cowboys to hold training camp at the facility for at least one week per year. District high schools will use the stadium for football games, too.<\/p>\n

This deal ends a four-decade relationship between the Dallas Cowboys and the city of Irving.<\/p>\n

“We won three world championships (in Irving) we hope to … replicate that here,” Jerry Jones said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
