Reggie Wayne is officially retiring from the NFL.<\/p>\n

After spending his entire career with the Colts, Wayne joined the Patriots last offseason but was not long for the roster. Wayne apparently did not feel the Patriots were a good fit and asked for his release which was granted before the season began. He was never linked to any other jobs so it is not a surprise that the 37-year-old is stepping away.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I\u2019m done,” said Wayne via CBS 4 Indianapolis<\/a>. “It was fun, but it\u2019s time. Whenever you can admit that you\u2019re done, you know you\u2019re done.”<\/p>\n

Wayne spent 14 seasons earning six trips tot he Pro Bowl and a Super Bowl ring. After starting as a complement receiver to Marvin Harrison, Wayne emerged as the Colts top target following Harrison’s retirement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI finally turned into a fan, a real fan,\u2019\u2019 Wayne said. \u201cYou know me, I\u2019ve got my adult beverage. I\u2019m eating some popcorn. I\u2019m watching fans\u2019 reactions. I\u2019m watching the Jumbotron.\u201d<\/p>\n

Out of the NFL, Wayne has turned to cycling. He now cycles 20-25 miles three times a week.<\/p>\n

Wayne caught 1,070 passes for 14,345 yards with 82 touchdowns making him a Hall of Fame candidate. He surely will earn entry into the Colts ring\u00a0of honor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
