The accident took place on a bridge just a few blocks from Bank of America Stadium.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/nfl\/files\/2014\/12\/stretcher.jpg\" alt=\"stretcher\" width=\"680\" height=\"428\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13146\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tireball.com\/nfl\/files\/2014\/12\/stretcher.jpg 680w, https:\/\/tireball.com\/nfl\/files\/2014\/12\/stretcher-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tireball.com\/nfl\/files\/2014\/12\/stretcher-85x54.jpg 85w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Newton was seen getting medical attention before being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher.<\/p>\n<p>According to an updated report from the Observer, Newton could be seen smiling and did not want to to go to the hospital following the incident.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p>Cam Newton is conscious and smiling after crash in uptown Charlotte. <a href=\"http:\/\/t.co\/tx6R9qisSh\">pic.twitter.com\/tx6R9qisSh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Charlotte Observer (@theobserver) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theobserver\/status\/542382212298326016\">December 9, 2014<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Newton was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries and was conscious. <\/p>\n<p>Newton is coming off a big game in a 41-10 win against the Saints.
