\nJason Brown spent seven seasons in the NFL before retiring in 2011 and purchasing a 1,000 acre farm.<\/p>\n

Brown and his wife Tay had planned to have a home birth with some assistance but things did not go quite as planned. Lunsford Bernard Brown III came a little earlier than anticipated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an incredible experience,\u201d said Brown via the Charlotte News Observer<\/a>. \u201cIt was unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The baby was named in honor of Brown’s older brother who was killed military action in Afghanistan. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces. He is the fourth child for Jason and Tay.<\/p>\n

\u201cDelivering Tre was a surprise,\u201d Brown said. \u201cMy wife and I were one praying couple.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since retiring Brown has used his farm to grow fruits and vegetables for the Society of St. Andrew, the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. He has donated 10,000 pounds of cucumbers and 100,000 pounds of sweet potatoes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
