The quarterback who was taken in the second round of 2011 draft had remained confident that a new deal would get worked out prior to the regular season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m confident. And both sides are working on it,\u201d Dalton said <a href=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/nfl\/2014\/07\/30\/andy-dalton-confident-of-working-out-deal-with-bengals\/\">last week<\/a>. \u201cWe haven\u2019t given a deadline, we haven\u2019t talked about a deadline.
