Finch announced the sale on Wednesday but declined to name the buyer, saying that the new owner preferred to make an announcement of his own either Friday or Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Finch said that he will assist the new owner through the Sprint Cup race at Atlanta on Sept. 1. That race will mark the end of Finch\u2019s 23-year run as a Sprint Cup and Nationwide team owner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey wanted the help,\u201d Finch said. \u201cThey\u2019ve never run any Cup races or anything like that, so I\u2019m going to help them. I don\u2019t want to say a whole lot. They\u2019ve got a sponsorship and a driver they want to introduce later in the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allmendinger is scheduled to run the No. 51 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and we expect the new owner&#8217;s announcement will talk of who will drive the car for the remaining races this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Phoenix Racing has been sold, according to team owner James Finch in a report from the News Herald.
