Sonoma, Cali — The NASCAR Nationwide Series cars are racing at Road America<\/strong> in Elkhart Lake, WI<\/strong>, for the Johnsonville Sausage 200<\/strong> while the Sprint Cup cars will tackle their first road course of 2013 this weekend at Sonoma Raceway<\/strong> in Sonoma, CA<\/strong> for the Toyota SaveMart 350k<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Below you will find this weekends race schedule, including practice and qualifying info and times, race start times, and weather information.<\/p>\n

FRIDAY:<\/strong>

Group Qualifying Info:<\/span><\/strong> The cars will be assigned to one of five or six groups based on practice speeds, slowest to fastest. Within those groups, cars will be separated fastest to slowest and released at intervals. Each group will have a window in which cars can complete their qualifying \u0013 each likely receiving three laps at full speed. A car’s fastest lap will count and the field will be set based upon overall qualifying speeds. The process has been used previously for NASCAR Nationwide Series road course qualifications.<\/p>\n

WEATHER:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Road America:<\/strong> Friday for practice for the Nationwide cars, rain is likely with temperatures in the upper 70’s. Chance of rain, 80%. Saturday, for the qualifying and the race, their will be a slight chance of thunderstorms with a high near 86 degrees. Chance of rain 30%.<\/p>\n

Sonoma:<\/strong> Friday for practice in Sonoma, lots of sunshine and no chance of rain. Saturday for qualifying will be much of the same, no rain and a high near 87 degrees. Sunday, for the race – rain moves towards the area, with a chance of 30% and temperatures in the mid 70’s.<\/p>\n
