Jeff Gordon has six wins and is ranked first among drivers all-time at Pocono Raceway. He has led 965 laps marking the most among drivers all-time at the track. He has captured two poles, 18 top-fives and 28 top-10’s at track drivers and fans alike, call, “The Tricky Triangle.”<\/p>\n

Gordon’s last win at the track came last August, albeit rain shortened – when he drove under crashing cars, assuming the lead, before rain began. Was it luck? Possibly, but any driver will take it.<\/p>\n

This season Gordon is eight points out of the top ten, and without a win yet this season, finds himself in an awkward place – that if the Chase started now — he would miss it.<\/p>\n

Pocono gives Gordon a great shot at capturing his first win of the 2013 season, and he has momentum going into it, after capturing a third place finish at Dover International Speedway last weekend.<\/p>\n

Gordon has three top fives, and four top tens this season.<\/p>\n

Gordon said of his success at Dover,\u00a0 that they made a pit crew change – and it seemed to give them the edge they needed to get off pit road quicker. It gave Gordon the track position to reel in a much needed top three that moved him closer to the top ten in points — but a win is ultimately what Gordon needs.<\/p>\n

Gordon knows this weekend will be no cake walk.\u00a0 “Pocono is a unique track,” Gordon said.<\/p>\n

“You can go out there thinking you’re pushing hard and be a second off the pace. It’s a track where a lot of speed can be lost or gained based on how hard you push it. Finding the edge and the limits is a little bit tougher on such a big race track with three unique corners.<\/p>\n

“The tunnel turn (2) has always been one of the most hair-raising experiences on our schedule. It takes full commitment.”<\/p>\n
