{"id":2887,"date":"2012-08-15T10:25:48","date_gmt":"2012-08-15T14:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tireball.com\/?p=2887"},"modified":"2012-08-15T10:25:48","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T14:25:48","slug":"carl-edwards-to-be-geeked-out-this-weekend-at-michigan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tireball.com\/nascar\/2012\/08\/15\/carl-edwards-to-be-geeked-out-this-weekend-at-michigan\/","title":{"rendered":"Carl Edwards to be &#8220;geeked out&#8221; this weekend at Michigan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Brooklyn, MI \u2013 (August 14, 2012) \u2013\u00a0<\/strong> The world famous West Coast Customs (WCC), renown vehicle customizers and producers of the hit vehicle-build reality TV show Inside West Coast Customs, has partnered with Best Buy\u2019s Geek Squad to develop Carl Edwards\u2019 No. 99 race car design for the NASCAR Pure Michigan 400 race.\u00a0 Ryan Friedlinghaus, a NASCAR fan, was excited when long-time partner Geek Squad approached the WCC team on designing a car for this race.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/99geeksquad-diecast.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-2888\" src=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/99geeksquad-diecast.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"404\" height=\"243\" \/><\/a>\u201cThis was a very unique and exciting opportunity for West Coast Customs,\u201d said Ryan Friedlinghaus, CEO and founder of West Coast Customs. \u201cAs a devoted NASCAR fan, seeing the WCC design and logo on Carl Edwards\u2019 race car will be an amazing experience. We are filming the unveiling and all the activities throughout the weekend for our TV show Inside West Coast Customs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe race this weekend is huge for us,\u201d said Carl Edwards.\u00a0 \u201cTo have Ryan Friedlinghaus, who designed the paint scheme, and all the West Coast Customs and Geek Squad people there will be really cool. I got a chance to visit Geek Squad City when we were in Kentucky for the race and I met a lot of really great people there who are behind us and I hope we can get a win for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>West Coast Customs will feature a display in the NASCAR fan zone area at Michigan International Speedway August 17th \u2013 19th.\u00a0 The West Coast Customs booth will feature a variety of autograph signing sessions \/ appearances.\u00a0 On Saturday, August 18th, Jack Roush will be on hand for a Q&amp;A Session with fans.\u00a0\u00a0 On Sunday, Aug. 19th,\u00a0 the schedule includes: Ryan Friedlinghaus 9 am, Carl Edwards Q &amp; A in the WCC booth at 10 am and special guest Dj ASHBA, the lead guitarist for the band Guns and Roses will be signing at 11 am.<\/p>\n<p>The Inside West Coast Customs Geek Squad\/Carl Edwards episode will be airing this fall.\u00a0 A complete TV show schedule will be on the www.westcoastcustoms.com website Nov 1st.<\/p>\n<p>Owner Ryan Friedlinghaus and his shop have been doing exclusive custom builds for the MTV show Pimp my Ride, TLC\u2019s Street Customs, Street Customs Berlin and now on his new show Inside West Coast Customs.
