Go Fas Racing owner Archie St. Hilaire told reports that Cole Custer was not an option to drive the No. 32 Ford Mustang in 2020 even as the team had joined announced an agreement to enter a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing.<\/p>\n
\u201c2020 will be an exciting year at GFR with the addition of SHR cars and their technical assistance,\u201d St. Hilaire said. \u201cI can\u2019t thank all of the great people at SHR for the opportunity to align with them. All of this couldn\u2019t happen without the help of our wonderful sponsors and marketing partners. GFR has improved every year in our six years in the NASCAR Cup Series and I believe that the best is yet to come for this little team and our great group of employees.\u201d<\/p>\n
As part of the alliance with SHR, GFR will be provided with chassis, data and technical support for the No. 32 Ford Mustang in addition to their present relationship with Ford Performance and Roush Yates Engines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis arrangement will allow Go Fas Racing to improve its performance in 2020 and position itself for future growth,\u201d said Greg Zipadelli, Vice President of Competition for SHR.<\/p>\n
Despite speculation that Custer was an option to drive for GFR, their has continued to be contact within current driver Corey LaJoie about an extension. SHR has continued negotiating with Daniel Suarez to return to the seat of their No. 41 car.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
