The No. 6 car of Ryan Newman and the No. 15 car of Quinn Houff failed pre-qualifying inspection twice at Daytona.<\/p>\n

Qualifying never happened<\/a> for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 which will take place Saturday night at 7:30 pm ET on NBC but engineers were ejected nonetheless.\u00a0Travis Peterson and John Colbert, Newman and Quiff’s car chiefs, were sent away from the track Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Both teams will also lose 15 minutes of practice next week.<\/p>\n

Due to the penalty both Newman and Houff will have to drop to the rear of the field prior to the start of the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Newman was to start 18th while Houff was slated to start 32nd.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
