Subsequently he was pulled out of the #22 Shell Pennzoil Dodge for Saturday&#8217;s race at Daytona. Sam Hornish, who drives the #12 in the Nationwide Series, replaced Allmendinger behind the wheel of the Penske Racing Dodge and finished a dismal 33rd.<\/p>\n<p>Thus far little information is known about the failed drug test by Allmendinger. It&#8217;s almost unheard of for NASCAR to announce what personnel test positive for but often this information does leak out. Allmendinger&#8217;s A sample tested positive for a banned substance, he has the right to request his B sample be tested. He had 72 hours to request that from the time of the failed A sample announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Team owner Roger Penske called the failed test by Allmendinger &#8220;a disappointment&#8221; but offered little comment besides saying that they planned to have the B sample tested Monday or Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Allmendinger had signed with Penske on a one year deal after racing for Richard Petty Motorsports and Red Bull in the past. Penske Racing hired the open wheel driver after it parted ways with Kurt Busch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.J.
