(June 14, 2012 - Source: Drew Hallowell\/Getty Images North America)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Faced with blistering speeds, and well&#8230; blistering tires, NASCAR and Good Year have changed the left side tire to be run in Sunday&#8217;s Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway.<\/p>\n<p>A practice at 6:00 pm has also been added to the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Gordon was one of the first drivers to break the news on twitter:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Just heard from <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#%21\/NASCAR\">@<strong>NASCAR<\/strong><\/a> there will b a left side tire change for the race on Sunday. No change for qual. 6pm pract on new tire tomorrow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This of course is a cause for concern. Additional practice time prior to a race creates more chances for something to go wrong as crew chief Slugger Labbe noted.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Worried about added practice engine miles as well, almost 2 limit already    <a title=\"#always\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#%21\/search\/%23always\">#<strong>always<\/strong><\/a> nervous<\/p>\n<p>Yes. Sending 2 ls tires. 4020 and 4390. Pulling data now.  Old tires x 5 years old<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The session will last from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm.
