After Chevrolet’s and Ford’s topped the speed list for much of the opening round of practice it was the Toyota of Brian Vickers who finished the session as the fastest.<\/p>\n

The first championship eligible driver was Kevin Harvick who was second. The next driver still in the Chase was Jeff Gordon at fifth. Each of the top 25 cars topped 196 mph.<\/p>\n

There are just 43 cars on the entry list for the AAA 500 at Texas meaning all of the drivers who took laps today will make the race.<\/p>\n
