Grubb was hit with a $125,000 fine and Hamlin was docked 75 points in the driver standings. The No. 11 car was also docked 75 owner points.<\/p>\n<p>JGR had originally planned to appeal the penalties but has since changed their mind.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Wheeler, the team engineer, has replaced Grubb as crew chief while Chris Gillin has taken on the role of car chief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don&#8217;t think that this is the first time that NASCAR has ever seen this issue with cars in the garage as a whole,\u201d Hamlin said last week at Pocono Raceway. \u201cIt hit us pretty hard for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Gibbs Racing will not appeal the penalties of NASCAR which were placed on Denny Hamlin&#8217;s car at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
