Michael McDowell and team still need sponsorship

The No. 98 Ford Fusion of Phil Parsons Racing is still in search of sponsorship. Michael McDowell recently talked about the teams sponsorship situation.

“We have one more race for Curb, we have one more race for K-LOVE. We’re working on lots of deals, but really right now we have two more races and that’s it. Sponsorship is key to whether or not we’re able to run, and run competitively” McDowell told Frontstretch.

The news is unsurprising. Small teams in NASCAR have had a rough time attracting sponsors in recent years often featuring different sponsors from one week to the next. Instead of running full races unsponsored some teams have opted to pull their cars behind the wall after the start of a race.

McDowell has spent six years at the Sprint Cup level, including the last four with Parson’s various entries. During that span he has started and parked more often then not but recently picked up a ninth place finish at Daytona. Last week the team ran 21 laps at Las Vegas before parking the car for the day.
